The Achiever Quilt is the second quilt I've ever made. It's colors are the University colors of the various schools from which my friends Mark and Laura have graduated. Those schools begin with Notre Dame, continue with Georgetown, then Harvard and the University of Pennsylvania. With all these degrees between the two of them you can see why I made this as their engagement present - it's somewhere they can finally rest! I completed it in 2000, if I remember correctly. The backing fabric is one of my favorites so far. It's a very soft, almost flannel navy with a small, light tan, plaid pattern. Very conservative and very cuddly, too! This being a king-size quilt, I don't know who the bigger achiever is - those two with their degrees or me!

A gift for our friends' engagement.

Our Baby's Quilt

The Log Cabin Quilt

I made this quilt as the first quilt for my family keep. It's the size of a single bed, and it's meant for use in our family room. The flannel backing makes it perfect for cuddling under. My husband requested a thicker blanket, so I used doubled-over batting which makes it warm and cozy in winter.

Sarah and John's Wedding Quilt

This quilt I think is the fastest quilt I've ever made. Sarah helped pick the fabrics and design the layout. Even though it is king size, it was quick to make because of the simple design. I cranked it out in two weeks and was able to give it to my brother and his wife on their wedding day.

Krit's Quilt

This small quilt is used as a cloth for tarot reading. I will post a picture of it here as soon as I get one.

The Faerie Quilt below is the most complex project I've completed so far. I made it for my daughter's second birthday, for when she graduated from the crib to the regular bed. This is a queen size quilt, made for her full bed so that one day when she gets a queen size bed, she can still use the quilt.

The image of a faerie in the middle is from a Stamp Camp rubber stamp (from their unmounted Beautiful Fairies sheet). I enlarged it to fit the center, then made a template for the applique'. The blue stars represent the faerie's magic. The pinwheels are the forest flowers where the faerie lives.

To the right is a closer photo of the applique' faerie. I used a wood print material for her hair to give it texture. The white background has swirls quilted into it to give the illusion of magic in the air. This quilt took a long time to make, because I do all my quilting by hand. But the reward is that my daughter loves it and will have it to treasure as she grows.

Above is a close-up of the backing material. I love these flowers! And the binding is one of my favorites. The bright colors remind me of a carnival! It's such a happy quilt.

My Quilt
Finished this quilt, but but don't have a big picture of it yet. Here's a close-up of it. It's made up of scraps from every other quilt I've made, as well as pieces of clothes I've made for my daughters. It's a king size quilt, and I hand quilt it in the ditch, so all those little triangles just take forever. This one took me over a year to finish!

Jamie's Quilt
Finished this quilt almost a year after I started it. It has applique as well as traditional patchwork, and even my first bit of crazy quilting.

Here's a closer pic of the crazy quilt border.
And the backing fabric was hand-picked by Jamie herself!

Coming soon: Mom's quilt, quilt -- These two quilts are still in my head. Once I get them going, I'll get some photos here.
